"The connections you make in the MGG Network are trustful, inspiring and reliable."
“The MGG Network is very special. Friends I have made during the Academy in 2013 are friends for life. The connections you make in the MGG Network are trustful, inspiring and reliable. These connections are extremely beneficial for cooperation beyond your own institution”
Camila Neves Soares Oliveira, Environmental Analyst, Brazilian National School of Public Administration (Enap), MGG 2013
Camila's change story:
I worked as an environmental analyst in the Ministry of Environment in Brazil for 17 years. This year, a MGG alumnus invited me to work in his institution, the Brazilian National School of Public Administration (Enap), under his coordination. This has opened many new perspectives for me and I am broadening my knowledge in this new place as well as sharing my experience as an environmental analyst. I am bringing my professional connections, and ideas related to sustainability and cooperation to the work being developed by the General-Coordination of Training of Senior Executives. As a course coordinator at Enap, I am interacting with many different institutions and leaders of the Brazilian Public Service. It is being very useful to combine the experience I had in the Ministry of Environment with Enap, an institution linked to the Ministry of Economy, the biggest ministry of the Federal Government. I helped with connections and facilitated the organization of courses focused on employers of the Ministry of Environment. We also started conversations for an online training specific for environmental managers from state and municipal government.
In the past, I worked with biodiversity related issues in the Ministry of Environment. Two other colleagues and I from the Secretary of Biodiversity, all MGG alumni, felt that the MGG Academy could touch deeper into the biodiversity topic during the discussions related to environment and sustainability. The three of us together proposed a session on biodiversity for the national alumni conference that was held in Brasilia in 2019. Because of that session, the researcher invited by us was also invited by IDOS to conduct a session on biodiversity during the MGG Digital Academy in 2020 and 2021. We were also part of the session helping with the debate. It was very gratifying!

Why is your change story inspiring?
I am part of the MGG Network since almost 10 years. I have experienced how special relationships built in this network are. As the Brazilian liaison person, I am always observing the creation of new connections and the support network which was established among its members.
I have seen the impact of the MGG in the life of many of my friends. The MGG network brings together people with similar values which came out to be very helpful, especially in this period in which the political polarization was so troubling and created many uncertainties.
Right now I am in a new job environment due to a MGG alumnus, which is enriching my network and professional experience greatly.
