An act of resistance during an extremely difficult political period

Through the MGG Programme I have broadened my national and international network and included the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in everything I do.”

Dolores Brito, Brazil, Executive Analyst in Metrology and Quality, Inmetro, MGG 2017

Dolores' change story:

I have promoted and implemented in my organisation a workshop on the 2030 Agenda in collaboration with a MGG friend. For this work, we used a methodology that she and her group had developed during MGG. The aim was to create more awareness of the 2030 Agenda and propose a plan for internalizing the goals of the 2030 Agenda in more aspects of our work. Our target group was key people from (Inmetro, Brazil), around 50 public servants, who would be able to leverage change forward. The proposed plan showed how people could reconsider the work under the perspective of sustainability. It showed that different ways of working are possible. I got the chance to organize this workshop because of the training I have experienced in the MGG Academy. The group conducting the workshop consisted of 7 people from different departments. The preparation for the workshop took 6 months. Afterwards, we elaborated guidelines for the internalization of the Agenda, which lasted another 6 months.

What makes the MGG Network successful in enabling change?

🌎 Access to an interdisciplinary and transnational network of networks dedicated to sustainability

✨ Exposure to innovative methods to talk about the Agenda 2030

Why is your change story inspiring?

Implementing this workshop on the Agenda 2030 was extremely difficult and it is an inspiring story because it was an act of resistance during an extremely difficult political period in the country in which talking about sustainability became dangerous.
