João's change story:

I have attended the MGG Academy four years ago and since then my personal and professional life has changed fundamentally. The Agenda 2030 became an integral part of my life. I am leader in the Brazilian National School of Public Administration (ENAP) and after my return to Brazil I could influence many decision makers at my institution to integrate the Agenda 2030 more in our curriculums. Our institute has changed fundamentally. We have integrated the Agenda 2030 in so many ways. We have developed so many training programs on the Agenda, specific trainings for majors, postgraduate programs, short courses for local leaders, the Laboratory of Good Practices for Local Government, where the participants understand in practice how to localize the SDGs in their cities. We have become the biggest school of public administration in the country working with the Agenda 2030. We have even become a reference point in Latin America on this. The collaboration in the MGG working strand Schools of Public Administration supported this development a lot, it reinforced our role in this sector. Now there a lot of different projects that sustain themselves. Through MGG I experienced how important international networks are. Now I am often recognized as an expert on this Agenda no only nationally, but internationally. I have recently been invited as an advisor to the UN Global Sustainable Development Report in an international consultant workshop in Peru.

Why is your change story inspiring? 

My change story is inspiring because through the MGG Network I am comprehensively promoting the Agenda 2030, it is part of my whole life. I am proud of my path as a change maker after MGG.
