Blanca's change story:

I participated in the publication of the book "Gender perspective in Mexico: A multidisciplinary vision", coordinated by the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, there I made an evaluation of how the mainstreaming of the 2030 agenda is going in Mexican politics and the challenges in the matter.

And now I am doing research on advances in SDGs related to social security and gender in Mexico, with a view to making it scalable to Latin America and the Caribbean.

As a part of the ExpertODS group, I have a seminar on sustainable governance, it emerges from the the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) of the United Nations Organization, and it is supported by the distance education system of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlan, UNAM and the Municipal Studies Center. 23 public servants and specialists from Mexico, Colombia, Germany, Norway and Sweden have participated, exposing successful cases of multi-stakeholder alliances in achieving 16 of the 17 SDGS of the 2030 Agenda. The objective is to disseminate success stories and document their common characteristics in booklets.

In this first part, our target group were public servants, and trainers (teachers). By 2023 we will generate various projects to implement the 2030 Agenda at our university, starting with the “Zero Waste” ´project in April. With this, our target population will include young people. Our objective will be to promote behaviour change in favour of sustainable life patterns.
