Not only what others teach us matters, but also what we can share with a positive intention is important

"My experience in the virtual MGG Academy inspired me to create new innovative learning spaces for public servants and other key actors in supporting sustainable transformation. My boundaries of how I and others understand the world got enlarged."
Miriam Ordoñez, Mexico, External Consultant for Training Public Servants, Instituto Mora, MGG 2020
Miriam's change story:
I took part in the first virtual MGG Academy in 2020. This itself has been live changing: Experiencing how the COVID19 Pandemic influences cooperation and forced us all to meet only “virtually” created many moments of learning, especially staying there, not giving up, practicing resilience and still being able to contribute to the implementation of the Agenda 2030.
Within the Academy I have learned, among many other things, how to design virtual workshops and how to prioritize the most relevant topics for different stakeholder groups to promote the Agenda2030. Together with another MGG Alumni (2021) Sergio Vázquez Meneley we had the opportunity to transfer these learnings into practice and design a virtual workshop for a group of high ranking public servants in Guadalajara who were planning for sustainable development at the municipal level. We directly could experience how our learnings from the MGG Network made a difference for the work of these public servants, who gained more clarity on how to integrate priorities of sustainable development in their plans.
What makes the MGG Network successful in enabling change?
🪂 Providing a meta perspective on transformative learning
🌎 Providing a full picture of priorities of sustainable development
💭 Reflect own values, roles and norms
✨ Inspires new ways of learning
🤝 Collective group work experiences
Why is your change story inspiring?
"My change story is inspiring because I experienced and could transfer how to generate transformative knowledge, to address the complex problems we are facing in the world. Not only what others teach us matters, but also what we can share with a positive intention is important."
