Enhancing Sustainability Globally: MGG's Influence through Knowledge

„MGG helped me understand the nuances of sustainability and global discourses on sustainability“

Sreerupa Sengupta, India, Associate Professor, Goa Institute of Management, MGG 2019

Sreerupa's change story:

Through MGG, I gained a broader knowledge of the challenges faced by developed and developing countries in implementing the SDGs. Discussions that began during MGG sessions have culminated in a working paper published by IDOS on Localising the SDGs in India: Role of Government and Private Training Institutes. I further published book chapter with Ananya Chakraborty, from MGG 2019, on "Equitable Pathways for a Sustainable Future: Mainstreaming Gender across SDGs" in the edited volume published by Emerald Publishing Ltd. Further discussions with fellows from MGG have helped me design a course for professionals on Sustainability, Business, and Reporting on SDGs and Social Impact.

In a broader sense, MGG has helped me gain new skills and take a keen interest in discussions on global governance. It widened my horizon of knowledge and enabled me to explore new areas of research and publication. Participating in MGG activities gave me new ideas for developing case studies on sustainability and helped me design new courses on sustainability.

As a teacher at a management school in India, my postgraduate students and professionals from government, public sector, and development sector benefit from this knowledge. My postgraduate students have become aware of sustainability and try to practice it in their various activities on campus. Sessions on sustainability reporting have helped professionals write effective impact reports for their organisations.
