A podcast named "Going Glocal"

„MGG, with its emphasis on connection, collaboration and communication, has been the driving force behind the transformative journey I've embarked upon.“
Simran Dhingra, India, Head of International Cooperation at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), MGG 2022
Simran's change story:
Inspired by the vibrant Glocal village at MGG 2022, I initiated a podcast named "Going Glocal". The name itself encapsulates the essence of MGG's philosophy – the concept that our ideas, like the world, should have no boundaries. We must craft development strategies that bridge the gap between global aspirations and local realities. MGG ignited the spark and "Going Glocal" is now my vehicle to communicate and reach the wider public, spreading the message of interconnectedness and global-local synergy.
My MGG experience also played a pivotal role in enhancing my role as a Change Maker. The lessons I learned in the Change Maker Project, aimed at empowering Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were invaluable. These insights found their way into the Joint Staff Development Programme (JSDP) conference in Mysuru, India, where I served as the Principal Coordinator. MGG's collaborative spirit and my newfound leadership skills ensured the success of this impactful event. Additionally, MGG nurtured my abilities as a workshop facilitator and event moderator. The programme's confidence-building environment equipped me with the skills needed to conduct engaging and meaningful activities. I conducted a session on "Media as a Driving Force" for the iLead-KAS Training program on Rising Leaders for Progressive and Inclusive Change. MGG's emphasis on people-to-people connections and trust became the foundation for my facilitation style.
Furthermore, MGG encouraged research and intellectual growth. Together with two MGG peers, we contributed an article to the World Public Sector Report 2023. Our piece highlighted the impact of transnational networks and underscored the indispensable role MGG plays in advancing the SDGs.
What makes the MGG Network successful in enabling change?
🌐 Connection: meaningful connections that transcended geographical and cultural boundaries.
🤝 Trust: cultivated environment of trust among its participants. This trust extended beyond the programme, influencing how I approached partnerships and collaborations.
👩🏫 Exposure to leadership and coaching sessions.
📡 Access to Networks: MGG served as a powerful networking hub.
Why is your change story inspiring?
„MGG has not only expanded my horizons but also instilled in me the values of connection, trust and leadership. It has powered my endeavours to create positive change, bridging the global-local divide and fostering collaboration for a more interconnected world".
